Respiratory care is a branch of allied health concerned with the assessment, management and treatment of a patient’s breathing. As specialists in the field, respiratory therapists use both evaluation and therapeutic techniques to help patients deal with a range of breathing issues, from emphysema in adults to underdeveloped lungs in newborn children.
The Testing Office will administer the CUNY Assessment Tests (CAT), which comprise of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. The center will also provide proctoring for the Certified Health Education Specialist and Master Certified Health Specialist (CHES/MCHES), National League for Nursing (NLN), Test of English as a Foreign.
The CUNY Assessment Test in Writing (CATW) requires students to read a brief reading passage and then write an essay about the passage.
Students have 90 minutes (1 ½ hours) to complete the essay.
Students are permitted to have a paper-back dictionary during the test. No electronic dictionaries or similar devices are permitted.
